An ounce of compassion

All at once the preacher sang

Ne’er in the face of Glory

Stand to tell your lies

Carry yourself like a dog

Whipped,forsaken and shameful

For you are transgressed

And raised not to heaven

For who shall worry your soul

And who can bare your weight

The sweat poured off his brow

As his words traveled high

Trying reach  a God

Who resides in a much humbler place

And can whisper a change

With love

To  unite a tattered soul

With just an ounce of compassion
